Pet of the week: Peanut
ANTHEM – Peanut is a tiny, 5-pound Chihuahua, estimated to be 5 years old, that was found dodging traffic one night. A good Samaritan stopped and picked him up, and noticed he only has one eye. After a vet checkup, it was determined that his left eye never fully developed, and he is limited to seeing with just the right eye.

He is extremely shy, but with patience, you can see this gentle and sweet boy come out of his shell. He has met both dogs and cats while in foster and appeared indifferent to both. He enjoys spending time relaxing in his crate, looking out windows, and strolling through a secured backyard with whomever he has formed a bond.

He would do well in a home where he is given some time to acclimate and build trust/bonds with his new family, and not a lot of noise and chaos. If you want a lap dog that isn't too needy, then this just may be the perfect dog for you!

Peanut's adoption fee is $65.00. He is currently living with a foster, so if you'd like to meet him, please fill out our dog matchmaker form:
