Seminar examines solar energy
Staff Report ~ 12/30/2009

Green Fuel Technologies and the Foothills Community Foundation are conducting a seminar that will enable Arizona residents to better understand the benefits of solar energy and the tax advantages it offers. The free one-hour Solar 101 event will be from 10 - 11 am. Jan. 9 at the FCF-Holland Community Center.

The session will explain how and why renewable solar technologies ranging from simple hot water heating equipment to complex off-grid systems work so effectively. Attendees will also learn how to take advantage of numerous state and federal tax incentives and rebates.

“Arizona averages more than 300 sunny days each year,” said Brad Tobias of Green Fuel Technologies. “There are numerous rebates that are currently being offered by APS and SRP. We’ll explain the pros and cons of each and help the consumer wade through the many options that are available today.”

Part-time residents are encouraged to attend. "We will discuss equipment and programs that can enable part-time residents to reduce their utility bills by 90 percent," Tobias said.

The FCF-Holland Community Center is located at 34250 N. 60th Street in Scottsdale. RSVPs are suggested. For reservations or more information call Brad Tobias, 602-269-9206.
