Lions Club collects eye glasses
Staff Report ~ 12/23/2009

The Anthem Lions Club is collecting used eye glasses that will be used by needy Arizona families.

Local optometrists and businesses around Anthem and Tramonto have placed the collection boxes in their offices. Among the businesses that are participating are Arizona Eye Care, Nationwide Vision, North Valley Eye Care, Wal-Mart, Mary Freidrich Edward Jones office, and Freeman Income Tax service.

‘We are proud of the work that the lions Club put in to help prevent blindness”, Explains Lions President Kerry Freeman. “Your used glasses will give the gift of sight that will last all year and maybe all their lives”. Every pair of glasses gets reused by people right here in Arizona.

For information on the glasses drive or about the Anthem Lions Club contact Freeman at 623-476-5312 or find information on Facebook at Anthem Lions. The Anthem Lions Club meets at 7 p.m. the first and third Tuesday of the month in room 435 at the Outlets of Anthem.
