Anthem business owner recognized by chamber
Staff Report ~ 12/14/2011
Casey Cottrell, 38, was recognized by the Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce at Anthem North Gateway earlier this month. Cottrell owns Daisy Mountain Painting Services LLC, 42407 N. Vision Way, Suite 104, in the Anthem Commerce Park in Phoenix.
Cottrell, who has owned his business since 1997, was named Phoenix's Small-business Person of the Year recognition.
He changed the name of the business to Daisy Mountain Painting from CJC Painting in 2009.
Other nominees included Bob Andringa, Network of Anthem Area Assistance Providers, Tony Gutowski, of Gutowski Cabinet Works and Tamara Lee, with the Caepe School.
The chamber noted Cottrell's business painted the underpass between Diamond Canyon School to the other side of Anthem Way. In addition, Cottrell donates his painting services each quarter to an Anthem resident who can't afford to keep up with the painting requirements of the community's HOA policies.
This is the eighth time the north Valley chamber honored a business owner. The honor exemplifies the chamber's commitment to community involvement, innovation, business accomplishments and integrity, according to Melissa McMullin, Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce marketing coordinator.
The business donated about $10,100 this year in painting services to four homes, Cottrell said.
Cottrell and his wife have a non-profit, Hands Across Arizona, which is pursuing a 501c3 status.
