Adventures With Mary Poppins story ballet happening Dec. 10

SCOTTSDALE – On Dec. 10, the Plumb Performing Arts Center will bring the full-length story ballet of ‘Adventures With Mary Poppins’ to the stage.

Step right into the life of the Banks family and the magical influence of their new nanny, Mary Poppins. This fun-filled performance by the pre-professional dancers of PPAC will delight and entertain the audience of all ages. Bring your imagination and get swept up in the fun! Ballet dancers ages 6-17 will entertain the audience with their dedication to dance and their irresistible joy for performing.

The story begins with the Suffragette Movement and the Banks children, Jane and Michael, constantly seeking attention. Once Mary Poppins takes command, Bert and the entire Banks family go on many memorable adventures. Experience toys that come alive, dancing inside a painted picture with magical carousels, adorable penguins, flying kites, and dancing with chimney sweeps on the rooftops of London.

This show’s choreography is by Kelly Roberts; stage props and design by Sheri Ashton, and lighting design by Mike Hitt. Plumb Performing Arts Center provides a variety of dance and performing arts classes for all ages, nurturing and developing dancers in a safe and progressive way. PPAC teaches many different levels of developmentally appropriate classes such as ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, musical theater, and contemporary.

The community is invited to this entertaining 90-minute ballet with performances at both 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 10. This is a reserved seating event at the Cactus Shadows Fine Arts Center, behind Black Mountain Elementary School, in Scottsdale.
