Marty Ashby Holiday Jazz Show to be held at MIM

PHOENIX – Holiday music and jazz fans alike are invited to attend the Musical Instrument Museum’s 7th annual Marty Ashby Holiday Jazz Show on Friday, Dec. 9 at 7:30 p.m.

Presenting seasonal music from Brazil to Italy, five-time GRAMMY award-winning producer and jazz guitarist Marty Ashby and the extended Ashby family are inviting the community to celebrate the holidays at the MIM Music Theater.

With familiar songs, family traditions, and special surprise moments, the spectrum of jazz-flavored holiday tunes will be performed by two generations of the Ashby family including Kim Nazarian Ashby, founding member of the GRAMMY award-winning group New York Voices and GRAMMY award-winning producer/composer Jay Ashby (former Paul Simon band member). In addition, the show will feature great jazz friends from the Phoenix area including the Moio brothers, three generations of the Goldenthal family, and “adopted” cousins Dennis Rowland (vocals), Shannon Wallace (vocals), and Michael Kocour (piano). The Phoenix Children’s Chorus will also join the festivities for the grand finale.

“After six wonderful years, I look forward to bringing yet another exciting holiday concert to the MIM Music Theater,” said Marty Ashby, also the executive producer of Pittsburgh’s Manchester Craftsmen’s Guild (MCG Jazz). “What better place to celebrate the season than with the welcoming residents of the Valley of the Sun.”

The Ashby family also includes Brazilian percussionist Lucas Ashby, and the next generation of musicians, Eric and Ian Ashby on drums and bass carrying on the family tradition.

Advanced concert tickets can be purchased online at or by calling the MIM box office at (480) 478-6000. The MIM is located at 4725 E Mayo Blvd., in Phoenix.
