Norterra kicks off holiday shopping

The Shops at Norterra will distribute special “Black Friday Survival Packs” beginning at 6 a.m. Nov. 25. The reusable shopping bags will be filled with coupons, refreshments and a map detailing all the Norterra merchant’s discounts and deals at a tent located on Norterra’s Main Street, located next to Olive Creations.
Each pack will include a Norterra Gift Card in a denomination between $5 and $50. Packs will be available while supplies last. Early birds will have a chance to try free samples of java from Elevate Coffee Company and have chances to win gift cards and merchandise from center merchants, including a $500 Charming Charlie gift card.
From 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Black Friday, The Shops at Norterra and Elevate Coffee Co. will offer free photos with Santa at Elevate Coffee, located near Harkins Norterra 14. Those who come in for a photo can also take part in a free holiday craft workshop provided by The Shops at Norterra. Free photos and crafts with Santa will also take place at Elevate Coffee Co. on Dec. 3, 10, 17 and 24 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Children can also visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus at The Shops at Norterra’s Lunch with Santa event series, which will be from 11 a.m. - noon every Thursday in December. Each lunch will be provided by a different Norterra restaurant, and children will have the opportunity to dance and enjoy music offered by an interactive deejay. Each child will receive a free goodie bag. Admission is $7 per child and registration is required. The Shops at Norterra will donate $4 from each fee to The Phoenix Children’s Hospital. Parents may order lunch in advance from Elevate Coffee Co. for delivery at the event. Registration opens two weeks prior to each event. Artists and creative enthusiasts will enjoy the Norterra Fine Arts Festival December 2 to 4. Unique paintings, photographs, sculptures and much more will be available for purchase from top artists from around the state. Live music will provide a pleasing sound track for the event. The festival will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday in the parking lot between Paradise Bakery and P.F. Chang’s.
Rev up your engines for a special holiday edition of the Norterra Car Show on Friday, December 9 from 6-9 p.m. Car buffs, kids and families can rub shoulders with the jolly elf himself during the special “Cruisin’ With Santa” event. Event goers will also enjoy live music, complimentary goodie bags, hot chocolate and cookies as well as free holiday face painting for the kids.
Continue the holiday cheer with the Sounds of the Holidays on Saturday, December 10 from 5-8 p.m. Nine different student groups from the Deer Valley Unified School District students will showcase their talents and serenade shoppers in three different locations around the shopping center. Visits from Santa, hot chocolate and cookies will complete the holiday cheer.
“Holiday events at the Shops at Norterra focus on families. We enjoy providing free and low-cost activities that get area residents in the holiday spirit this time of year,” Marketing Director Stephanie Bugno said.
The Shops at Norterra is home to more than 40 stores and restaurants. The center’s newest additions include Pita Jungle, Yogurtini, Sour Apple Gallery and Dance Academy North. European Wax Center, Yogi’s Grill and Smashburger will open soon.
