Basic handgun course offered at Ben Avery

An NRA basic handgun course will take place from 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. Sept. 17 at Ben Avery Shooting Facility.
The course deals with the basic knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary for owning and using a pistol safely. The students will learn about pistol parts and operation, ammunition, gun safety, and shooting fundamentals.
The eight-hour course will include a completion of a written exam. Students will receive an NRA certificate. The class, put on by the Arizona Women’s Shooting Associates, costs $115, which is non-refundable.
Ben Avery Shooting Facility is located at 4044 W. Black Canyon Blvd, in Phoenix just west of I-17 off Carefree Highway.
