Sunset Point hit by brush fires again

For the second time in three weeks Sunset Point, along I-17 has been scorched by brush fires.
On Sunday Daisy Mountain, Black Canyon City, and Mayer Fire Departments battled two separate fires that charred approximately 100 acres of land
The northbound lanes of I-17 were reduced to one lane at Cordes Junction.
One fire was near mile post 248, south of Cordes Junction, along the side of the hill while the second one was about 4 miles north along I-17 near mile post 252. The cause of the fire was unknown at press time.
