School supply drive set for August
Staff Report
~ 7/28/2010
The Anthem Community Council (ACC), the ACC’s Volunteerism Committee
and the Outlets at Anthem have joined together to sponsor this year’s
school supply drive that will benefit students in need and Anthem
schools. The Pencils, Paper and Possibilities school supply drive
kicks off Sunday and will continue throughout the month of August
and donations will be collected at two specially-designed school houses,
which will be located at the Anthem Community Center and the Outlets
at Anthem’s Food Pavilion.
The ACC Volunteerism Committee will assist will collecting, sorting
and distributing the school supplies to needy families and Anthem
schools. Items that can be donated include, but are not limited to,
pencils, pens, markers, colored pencils, glue sticks, crayons, backpacks,
ruled paper, white copy paper, folders, erasers, Kleenex, hand sanitizer,
scissors, and quart- and gallon-sized Ziploc bags.
Every donated crayon, notebook and glue stick can add up to make a
big difference in improving education in Anthem. During the month
of August, donate a package of pencils or white copy paper and deliver
them to either the Anthem Community Center or the Outlets at Anthem
for children in Anthem to have the necessities they need this school
year. The goal is to provide every needy student in Anthem and all
Anthem schools with backpacks filled with pencils, paper and other
classroom supplies.
