Community action program assistance comes to New River

In times of crisis or unusual stress people often need to reach out for immediate help. The Foundation for Senior Living has partnered with area communities to administer appropriate help with personal care and encouragement.
Community action programs provide emergency assistance, referrals, short-term case management, and education services for the communities of Peoria and Wickenburg and is now adding the New River area to the list. In the past clients from the New River area had to drive to Peoria for this service, but now they will be at the Kiwanis building, 48606 N 17th Ave, once a month to make it easier to apply for these programs.
Anyone income eligible (you do not have to be a senior) will be able to set up an appointment for assistance with utility discount programs, utility deposits, utility payment assistance, move in rental assistance, eviction prevention, mortgage foreclosure assistance, telephone assistance, emergency food and clothing, and other programs.
