Wine club offers education
Staff Report
~ 6/2/2010
Every Thursday from 6-7 p.m. throughout the summer, Cartwright’s will
offer educational wine tastings and classes in the Ranch Lounge. Attendees
will learn about the major wine grapes, the main characteristics of
each, and how to accurately describe what they’re tasting.
Anthony Mueller, the new beverage manager, wine director and sommelier
at Cartwright’s, will lead the classes. He has worked in several of
the Valley’s top restaurants and at the nationally acclaimed Tribute
in Michigan. He started wine clubs at two other venues before bringing
his expertise to Cartwright’s.
Classes begin Thursday, with “Wine 101 – the Basics.” Mueller will
go on to progressively more intense seminars focusing specifically
on white wines, red wines, and becoming familiar with the common aromas
and tastes in various wines. Guests will taste three to six wines
during each course. The first class is free; all others are $15. Sign
up for all four classes to become part of the Cartwright’s Wine Club
and you will receive a wine club card good toward $15 off any bottle
of wine any night June 10 through Sept. 30.
Cartwright’s Sonoran Ranch House and Lounge is located at 6710 E.
Cave Creek Road in Cave Creek. For information call 480-488-8031 or
