New River Kiwanis honor New River students

The New River Kiwanis recently honored the final pair of students for the 2009-2010 Terrific Kids program. Throughout the school year two fourth grade students at New River Elementary were honored each quarter for their achievements in the classroom.
The honorees from Marlene McKesson’s class were Brionne Byman, Zachery Krukovsky, Jacob Bulat and Casey Cowan.
From Beverly Thomas’s class the Terrific Kids were Tanner Billingsley, Paige Slezak, Jeremy Manganelli and Andee Kaczocha.
Students were nominated by their teachers for achieving various goals in an exemplary manner during the course of the school year. The honorees received a $50 savings bond, a certificate, a T-shirt as well as a bumper sticker.
Kiwanis Club members volunteered at the school as tutors as well as with other programs.
