Rock Springs restaurant receives national
recognition

The owners of Rock Springs Café, an Arizona roadside stop best-known
for its famous pies, announced today the historic Arizona café will
be featured at 6 p.m. Monday Arizona on The Learning Channel’s new
cross country culinary tour entitled, “Best Food Ever.”
Narrated by John Goodman, this six-part series takes viewers on a
coast-to-coast journey to uncover the best places to satisfy any craving.
Monday’s episode, “Darn Good Diners,” features Rock Springs Café and
focuses on Rock Springs famous pies, which are sold online at www.rockspringscafe.com
and shipped to Rock Springs pie fans across the United States.
Last year the business, located at 35769 South Old Black Canyon Highway,
off I-17 at exit 242, sold more than 67,000 pies in 2009, after selling
just under 60,000 in 2008.
“We shipped pies to 35 states last year including Rhode Island, Texas
and Utah, but the vast majority of our online pies were shipped right
next door to California,” said owner Augie Perry.
The café along Interstate-17 has been in business for more than 90
years and is rich in Arizona history. For information or to order
