Falcons football coach heads to Colorado

Cactus Shadows football coach Chad DeGrenier, who led the Falcons
to a state championship in 2006, is leaving the Cave Creek school
to take over at Fort Collins Fossil Ridge High School in Colorado
next season.
DeGrenier, who amassed a 37-31 record during six seasons with the
Falcons, led the program to a 15-0 season in 2006, earning a 4A Div-II
state championship. This year’s team went 11-1, winning the Desert
Sky Region title before falling in the 4A Div-I state quarterfinals.
Fossil Ridge, a seven-year-old school, went 3-7 last season.
DeGrenier, who will finish the year at the school, is endorsing his
defensive coordinator, Matt Bradshaw, to be his successor.
