North Valley group seeks Volunteer of Year nominees

Nominations for the 2009 Volunteer of the Year award are being accepted by the General Federation of Women’s Clubs North Valley Women's Club. The award honors extraordinary community volunteers who have helped improve or promote the general welfare of the North Valley communities. Judging is based on the activity, need, leadership, initiative, and innovation of the nominees.

“It is with great pleasure that we annually recognize the Volunteer of the Year who has given their time and heart so generously to our North Valley communities. The award recipient will receive a $250 check, payable to the charity of their choice and will be the guest of honor at the annual Volunteer of the Year luncheon,” club President Dee Wright said.

A nomination form may be requested by emailing V. Davis at info@gfwcnorthvalley.org. The deadline for nominations is March 15, 2010.

Previous Volunteers of the Year have been Donna Kublin, founding President of the Arts Council of the North Valley, Eric Kilstrom, Executive Director of We Care in Anthem, Jack and Judy Maltby, North Valley Sheriff’s Posse, Linda Kacmarsky, Team Wish, and Craig Boates, Anthem Rotary.

Affiliated with the international volunteer organization, General Federation of Women's Clubs, the North Valley Women's Club is a group of dynamic and diverse women determined to make a difference. The club has supported many projects benefiting the North Valley including the North Valley Regional Library, Habitat for Humanity – Desert Hills, The Sojourner Center, Fresh Start, The Salvation Army, Foothills Food Bank and the North Valley Sheriff’s Posse.
