Cave Creek restaurants tweak menu
Staff Report ~ 2/10/2010
Tonto Bar & Grill and Cartwright’s Sonoran Ranch House & Lounge
in Cave Creek are strengthening their commitment to using local ingredients
by choosing to buy beef from Arizona’s Cochise Cattle Company.
All of the ground beef at Tonto comes from natural, free-range grass-fed
Angus/Angus-cross cattle grazed on roughly 70,000 acres east of Benson
and Tombstone in southern Arizona, on the slopes of the Dragoon mountain
range. Tonto has rolled out the new Cochise burger, and Cartwright’s
will use various cuts such as tenderloin, rib eye and New York Strip
for specials.
Less than 1 percent of the nation’s beef is grass-fed, but it has
several advantages including better taste, safe meat, healthier meat,
smaller carbon footprint and more sustainable practices.
In addition to upgrading the quality of the food the restaurant is
also adding to its mixed drink options including the Gingered Rustic
Rose, Cidercar, Negroni, Orgeat Press and Five O’Clock Shadow.
Cartwright’s Sonoran Ranch House & Lounge is located at 6710 E.
Cave Creek Road in Cave Creek while Tonto Bar & Grill is located
at 5736 E. Rancho Mañana Blvd. in Cave Creek.
