Tax aid available for seniors at Anthem
Community Center

The Anthem Community Center is hosting an AARP Tax-Aide site for the
coming season.
Anthem AARP Tax-Aide volunteers will be available at the Anthem Community
Center every Tuesday. The program started Feb. 2 and will run from
9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through April 13th. Appointments may be made on-line
at http://bit.ly/anthemtax, though counseling/tax preparation will
also be available on a walk-in basis.
The program provides these services to low- and moderate-income people,
with special attention to those aged 60 and older. Taxpayers are asked
to come prepared with the following:
1. Copy of prior year tax return. If necessary, contact the IRS for
a copy.
2. W-2 forms from each employer.
3. All 1099 forms (1099-INT, 1099-DIV, 1099-MISC, etc.) showing interest
and dividends including broker statements, as well as documentation
showing the original costs of your sold assets.
4. If you received social security benefits, bring your form SSA-1099.
5. Bring your 1099Rs for any pension and/or annuity benefits received.
6. All forms indicating federal income tax paid.
7. If applicable, bring unemployment compensation statements.
8. Child care provider information (name, address, EIN (employer ID
No. or SSN.)
9. If itemizing deductions, bring all receipts or cancelled checks
for items such as medical expenses, taxes paid, mortgage interest
and charitable contributions.
10. Social security numbers for all your dependents
