Desert Hills couple ads sole to North Valley

Sole Trainer, an athletic shoe and sports apparel shop located at 4815 E. Carefree Highway, celebrated its grand opening with sales on a variety of merchandise on Saturday. Desert Hills residents Stacy and Gina Yoder hope to add their footprint to the North Valley landscape by serving the their Cave Creek neighbors.
For Gina being involved in the small business world is a tradition.
“It’s something my family has been involved with since I was a small kid,” she said. “We live in Desert Hills and decided we wanted to open our own store in the community.”
Scanning the area the couple decided that they could serve a need not being met by the area’s business community.
“We’ve only had the doors open a short time, but we’ve gotten a great response. Everybody is so excited to have us,” she said. “Now they don’t have to drive so far for their sporting attire.”
The store features name brand shoes such as Nike, New Balance, Puma, Asics and Mizuno.
“A lot of the shoes we’ve sold so far have been running shoes,” she said. “New Balance walking shoes also have been very popular.”
Beyond that she said the store will try and cater to their customers needs whenever possible.
“A lot of our runners have asked about getting energy gels so we’re going to add that as well,” she said.
Gina said the store also will carry a new Nike hiking boot later this year.
When it comes to clothing the store sells Under Armor and features Brooks apparel among others.
Store hours are 9 a.m. – 7 p.m. Monday – Saturday and noon – 5 p.m. on Sunday. For information call 480-595-5634.
